I support NDIS participants who are feeling overwhelmed and stressed with clutter and disorganisation and don't know where to start. I work with NDIS participants who are planned or self-managed who are living with either physical or mental disabilities. I have experience supporting people living with:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD)
Acquired Brain Injury
Depression and anxiety
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
What Do I Organiser?
I have worked with NDIS participants to organise the following:
Home, from the kitchen to the bathroom and even the shed and garage. I have worked with NDIS participants to organise any areas of their home
Paperwork. Sorting through paperwork can be overwhelming. I have worked with NDIS participant's to help them to establish paperwork systems to help them manage their paperwork and give them more control of their information.
How Does It Work?
My approach is to listen, review and understand the participant's organisational challenges. I will work with them to create organisational goals and make a plan to achieve them. I support the participant to accomplish their goals by providing specialist hands-on support. Also, establish maintenance systems that will keep the participant organised.
My focus is to work with the NDIS participant to establish organising solutions, systems and routines that will give them more control over their space and life, improve their daily living and build their capacity.
I can work with support coordinators and/or participants to see how my service can fit in with an NDIS plan.
Why Joey Camilleri /Creating Positive Spaces?
I take a calm, non-judgemental approach to organising. And acknowledge that everyone learns and organises in different ways which is why I create organising solutions that are tailored to individual needs—ensuring that organising solutions work for the participant. Participants will always be in control of the organising process; they set the goals and determine what they want to achieve during each session.
And I will not make participants throw things out, what items stay and what goes will be their choice, my job is to support them with the decision.
